In the context of the gFlowiz Geographic flow vizualisation research programwhich aims at developping a web appplication dedicated to the visualisation of flow and movements, we organise a multi-disciplinary working day with people from Humanities, geography, computational science, ... dedicated to the visualization of flow in the geoweb.
The general goal of this day is to share our works on the visualization of flow, movements with web applications. We will examine the actual modality of exploration, statistical treatments, visualization and spatialisation of such kind of data. In a second steps we will discuss the shape of a possible web application to deal with the challenges of this specific topic.
To this end, we propose to examine, on the one hand, their current methods of storage, exploration, processing of statistical and geographical information, graphic visualization and cartographic representation; on the other hand, to collectively list the desiderata of future application(s), in connection with current thematic mapping fabriques, the new uses of the statistical map, taking into account current technical and technological possibilities.
